Hi! today I am going to tell you a little bit about black holes!
Black holes suck in anything that comes 3km near it. Not even light can escape this immense gravitational pull! they do not emit or reflect any light so they are completely invisible but there are ways that scientists use to locate them.
Many stars don't live alone in space, some can be born in pairs, binaries. When they die one of the stars might become a black hole. We might see a star orbiting an invisible object- a black hole. There are other ways to locate them as well but I won't go through them today.
No one has ever seen a black hole so we can only imagine what they look like. The picture above shows what we think they look like based on all the data they have collected to date.
