1) Yuri Gagarin was the first person in space in 1961.
2) Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon in 1969.
3) The only other place in space that humans have walked on is the moon.
4) A spacecraft has to travel 11000 miles per hour to orbit around Earth.
5) Only 12 people have ever walked on the moon.
6) 535 people in the world have been into orbit around our planet.
7) The international space station (or the ISS) can hold a crew of 6 people
