Teens find new solar system
Hello! today I am going to tell you about a discovery of a new solar system!
Kartik Pinglé, 16, and Jasmine Wright, 18 ,helped to confirm the existence of 4 exoplanets (planets outside of our solar system).
They focused on the bright sun-like star that was spotted by TESS ( a telescope ) to try and see if planets were rotating around it.
They found four exoplanets orbiting it -around 200 light years away from earth.
they were very surprised by their findings and are passionate to carry on their carriers as scientists.
Wright has been excepted into an astrophysics program at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland while Pingle is considering studying applied mathematics or astrophysics after graduation.
