1)Mars was named after the Roman god of war
2) On mars, the temperatures can sometimes drop to -140 degrees Celsius!
3) Mars has the largest volcano in the solar system! It is called Olympus Mons and it is 24 kilometres high!
4) Mars has 2 known moons. Phobos and Deimos
5) Mars is a terrestrial planet and it is beside our planet in the solar system!
